In the name of Art (with a WIP included).

Just a bit of a WIP I drew last night. In the name of:

WTF I CAN draw origininals, it’s just that I do enjoy drawing fanart. That doesn’t mean I’m a lesser artists and have no own creativity, infact I LOVE making up characters of my own. If they blame people for drawing fanart, then they should blame all the oldtimers. Take Michelangelo, Monét or Da Vinci. They all used MODELS for most of their stuff, ya? But you don’t hear anyone complain they drew too much FANART of real people! GAH! It’s the same thing Dx! REALLY!

So, I wanted to draw something saami again, but she turned out more like a reindeer android something something… maybe I’ll add more body on ze computer, I just wanted to draw a nice girl potrait, since I rarely dare do potraits anymore (thanks to the asshat that scared me of when I was a teenager, saying potraits is for weaker artists and all the good artists draw fullbody-super advanced poses.)

She’s also my normal style, a bit japanese influenced, not biiiig eyed eyes, got some nose, etc. I’ve come to understand that the most popular anime(japanese) styles out there include ones that look like they do in 98% of HENTAI games. (Kurama pointed the hentai ref out to me) Shiny cgs, with huge eyeees and that smoooooth coloring. And people adore that style, yes they do. So much they look at the face instead of the HORRRIBLE porportions or linearts, and still call it masterpieces. Can’t blame them I guess, I was luckly born blind. Almost. 

Which turns me to this whole thing going; “Japanese/anime styles is too boring to draw. It’s to easy. I’ll draw more realistic stuff from now on.” WTF? I can’t even belive several people say such things. Sure, some mangaka’s draw super skinny, longlegged, etc etc bodies. Then you look at Kentaro Miura’s work. Dare you say Berserk is a illdrawn comic? Dare you say the bodies and porportions are WEIRD (not counting Guts muscles, they live in another dimension)? But it’s still, never the less, obviously Japanese. I draw my stuff influenced by my favorite styles. But my absolutely favorite artists are Bauer and Arnold. But more or less famous swedish CHILDRENS BOOKS artists. No one can have missed out on eithers beautiful drawings for different collections and stories. But are they very human’like. Not really. Are they well loved? Hell yeah!

Anyways, here’s the drawing, hah =p.

WIP – Calling again.

It’s almost 2.30am. My sister comes home in about 12 hours from beeing away from home for about a year. (Japan ohnoes) I haven’t seen her in about 12 months. Have I cleaned my room? NO! so what have I been doing? Cept beeing sick, that is…
The answer is, battling this picture. You might have seen the lineart posted before… but by the time I adored the face and hair and moved onto the rest I just decided the old lineart wasn’t GOOD enough for Cloud. So.. I’ve been sitting here correcting it over the computer <_< This was, mind you, after finishing the shoulderpad, the shirt, the sleeve, pants etc etc etc. BUT As I told Scabbers. I will work on this for 5 months if that’s what It’ll take to make it perfect. It’s CLOUD I can’t afford beeing sloppy >=O!!!

WIP – Haru.

Join the army, they said. See the world, they said.
…I wanted to be a sailor. 

People keep ‘nagging’ me to do un-fanarty-stuff. But I adore fanarty stuff! Because If I love the chars allready it’s so easy y’know? So I wanted to draw pretty hairstyles and sitting boys. This was the result.

 I named him Haru over a whim 8D! This is the pencil onry version.

WIP – Calling.

I never draw ‘cute’ stuff. Or anything couple ish. Then yestreday I decided: Needs more Cloud! Because, there really needs to be more Cloud. And I redrew this pic so many times the paper is sorta on the verge of total annillihation. Thankfully, I finally came up with a pose… and threw in a Aeris! *gasp* but it just fit in so well.. Not final but almost final Sketch.
