So, once again we held our (in)famous Xmas dinner. We’ve yet to miss one since the uni days!
I went there early Friday to hang out with Silly, which was nice since he later on found out that he had to take the train 1 day earlier than he thought. You better start paying more attention when you book those darn things, Silly!
So our delicious and Swedish styled Xmas table became more of a "little better than a normal dinner one course table" instead of the many delicious foodstuff that usually ends up at your average Xmas table. It ended up being quite delicious anyway and I made an little gimp cake in celebration of Scabbers 26th birthday. Grats to you Scabbers. You no longer actually count as an young adult. *pitiful pat*
So we ended up with the usual gaming (not so much as usual, we were on a tight time schedule) dinner, opening of the gifts and even a road trip to the train station that was placed somewhere in no man’s land… it was a bit exciting… a curvy road and dark woods.
Over all, we had a great time!

Had a lot to actually update but little time to do it. So now my camera is STUFFED with so called OLD news!
So, one of the things leading to such events is this little corridor exhibition we hold in groups of 3 persons at my school.
Now, most people might look at this as a slacking thing were you actually don’t bother too much about the theme and just take whatever that you’ve created over the years.
BUT! Not me! I decided to toss up a little collection for my exhibition. The theme we decided upon is "Movement". So within 2 weeks I’ve tossed up 4 different works in the means of movements.
The last thing to get done was this poster. I did it Monday evening in about 10 minutes using Adobe Illustrator. I think I love that program!
1 Fisherman’s Horizon – Mixed media and digital collage.
The First idea I got was a little different from this. I was going to place Snuffkin on top of a frame framing an empty image. Hence the movement would be him moving outside the painting itself. But last minute call I realized I had two volumes of this comic book and thought "Hey that’d be even more neat!" I’m very very pleased with this outcome. It looks really awesome in person =) Snuffkin is CGed so I will prolly toss up a better viewing version of him later on.
2 Vamo’ alla’ Flamenco – Mixed media with markers and different sorts of ink. (a3′s on black a2 cardboard)
This here is just what I call telephone scribbling. It goes on and on and on and on without me knowing wtf I am actually doing. Like all that gold paint! The image was sort of an older scribble I started to do with red ink. I rediscovered it last week in my a3 sketchpad and decided it looked like a dancing person. So I started to fool around with it and so it went on for 1-2 days. And there’s my recent found word art!
3 Select Start – Markers collage. (a5′s mounted on black a2 cardboard)
I started to think about combining my gaming with something. And you know, your facial expressions is a kind of movement in your face =p. So I toyed around with this idea of making the same guy playing different sorts of games. The whole collage thing came to me much later on. I was like "Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if I used screenshots to show what he’s actually playing instead of coloring his short red and black?" I ended up not finding much proper screenshots around that size in the game mags that I harassed so I ended up just using various images that I found fitting. Can you guess the games?
(the image looks a bit skew but It’s the best shot I got… I’ll try scan them separately later)
4 Runner at Daybreak - Digital Collage.
Actually the first image to be thought of and produced! It took me some time to get this right. The idea was him moving in betwen the frames OUTSIDE the frames. I really like black and white mono images to work with. And I cannot say how pleased I got with the jumping pic. It’s wholly digital and the raster in the bg is a Japanese a3 raster I scanned and used. I’ll try make a digital version of this to show at better quality.
And that’s that!
